Why I built ZoujUp

I'm Jihane, MRE, born between two worlds. I grew up speaking Darija, but never fully at ease: I would freeze, afraid of getting it wrong.

I built ZoujUp because I couldn't find the app I needed. And I know I'm not alone.

Is it really free?
Yes. The app is still being built (a test version): it is free until the public launch in November 2026, you may run into bugs, and your feedback counts. At launch, ZoujUp becomes a subscription and you get your first month free.
Which languages can I practise?
Moroccan Arabic (Darija) 🇲🇦, French 🇫🇷 and English 🇬🇧. More languages later, based on what the community asks for: [email protected].
How does a session work?
The app matches you with a native speaker and gives you a topic. You talk for 20 minutes: 10 in their language, 10 in yours. Each of you corrects the other.
Is it safe?
There are no open profiles to browse, and chat only opens after a session both of you validated. Zero tolerance for inappropriate behaviour: accounts are permanently banned.
Can I practise only with women, or only with men?
Yes. During onboarding you set your partner preference: women only, men only, or no preference. ZoujUp always respects it.
When is the public launch?
On the App Store and Play Store in November 2026. Until then, access is by email, from this page.
